{"id":761,"date":"2010-04-30T08:48:08","date_gmt":"2010-04-30T13:48:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.chloepoppins.com\/?p=761"},"modified":"2012-02-07T18:29:34","modified_gmt":"2012-02-07T23:29:34","slug":"the-results-are-in","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.chloepoppins.com\/?p=761","title":{"rendered":"The Results are in &#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After a long day in Columbia, SC on Saturday we were finished with National History Day. \u00a0Sadly, Mark was in Haiti and couldn&#8217;t travel with Sam this time. \u00a0Grandma and Grandpa stayed at home with Claire and Sophie, and two young cousins &#8230; but that&#8217;s another story &#8230; while Wilson and I traveled with Sam to the State Archive Center in Columbia.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Sam&#8217;s interview was at 9:50 A.M. and then we spent our day touring Columbia until the awards ceremony at 4:30PM. \u00a0Sam&#8217;s was the first name they called. \u00a0He won 3rd Place in the state, in his age division (6th &#8211; 8th), for the Historical Paper category. \u00a0The results are posted at the <a href=\"http:\/\/nhd.sc.gov\/\">SC National History Day<\/a> site, upper right hand corner.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The topic this year was &#8220;Innovations in History&#8221; and Sam&#8217;s paper was entitled <em>MS DOS: Secret Agent of Change<\/em> .  This was quite an experience, and if 1st or 2nd place decides not to go to Nationals, then we&#8217;ll be going to DC in June as the alternate.  But for now, our ride on the National History Day train is over.
