  1. Excellent concept with Mark holding the framed photo of the kids. Fabulous work on all your phots.

Diana said that you have the same camera that Diana & I both have. Are you in Auto for most of your shots or is it as it appears that you are a really talented photographer?

  2. You’re so sweet!! I am in Auto a lot of the time. I do use manual occasionally for certain photos. It’s hard to use the manual focus mode when I frequently have four subjects running in four different directions.

I take a ton of photos, and there are some that never see the light of day. The shear volume of photos has slowed down my scrapbooking efforts. I can’t decide which ones to use. I rarely if ever mess with the shading, color, contrast… etc… after the fact. But I do crop a photo to center it, or bring the primary subject in, or something. But I try to leave them “as is” as much as possible.

I had a BLAST making the Father’s Day gift for Mark. Some of the best photos I have are candid, in that the kids didn’t realize that I was actually using the camera.

I did upgrade the lens last month when one of the kids tried to adjust the camera while it was in Auto mode. I think it’s now got the AF-S Nikkor 18-105mm 1:3.5-5.6G ED. I only went up one notch to take it easy on the budget.

I told Diana that we need to start a photo hobbyist’s club to share tips and have fun….. :-) . Thanks so much for your compliment!! I’d love to say I’m just really talented… but the camera is really good equipment …
